Founded in Paris, the Eldering Ensemble is named after Bram Eldering, the well known violinist, chamber musician and pedagogue of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Both critics and audiences alike have hailed members of the ensemble to critical and popular acclaim. Performances by the Eldering Ensemble have been described as displaying “alert, vital and strongly contrasting playing†as well as displaying a wide range of musical expression – “from bitter despair to the wildest ecstasyâ€. Bound by an inspiration and desire to perform chamber music, the four core members, Simon Monger, Hans Christian Sarnau, Jeanette Gier, and Christoph Scheffelt from Europe, America and Australia, draw on extensive solo and chamber music experience in their search for a unique and individual ensemble sound.
