Taiwan-born pianist, Vicky Yang, graduated as one of the youngest students from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music at the age of 19 with Bachelor of Music Performance with Honors, and was then accepted to study Master of Music and Artistic Diploma in Indiana University in USA with full scholarship. In addition, she was invited to take part in music festivals and masterclasses with the renowned Russian concert pianist Bella Davidovich at Juilliard School of Music in New York. Since then she has completed three master degrees and is now studying for her PhD at the University of Tasmania Conservatorium of Music.


Her success in competitions include several major prizes and scholarships, including the Indiana University Music Scholarship for excellent performance, Cincinnati school of music piano performance scholarship, US pointed accompanist award, Verbiel Switzerland summer camp, Indiana Chamber Award, Talented Artists (USA), Juilliard (New York) Camp, Outstanding music performance award, Yamaha Australian Piano Competition (the prize being a grand piano), City of Sydney Challenge, Queensland Piano Competition (several times), Ruby C. Cooling Prize (2 times), the Margaret Ann Kerrison Scholarship, the International Scholarship for Music (3 times), the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence (2 times), William Williams Award and is also an Australian National Academy of Music Scholarship holder and member of the International Golden Key Academic Honors Society.


Vicky has performed piano solo with orchestra and ensembles in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Germany, France, Vienna, Italy, Switzerland, London, Canada and the United States, including New York, Baltimore, New Jersey, Indiana, Cincinnati and others. As well as adjudicating competitions and audition, Vicky is also an active chamber musician where she has appeared to TV shows and completed recordings for 4MBS, ABC radio and other radio stations in both USA and Taiwan.
