Answers . . . |
 |
1. I want to change
my major study stream
You will need to contact Lee-ann at the
office and arrange for an audition on your preferred
instrument/vocal stream. Be prepared though: the
completion date for your degree will need to be
adjusted as the major study stream requires a
minimum of six semesters of study to complete.

2. I
think I've taken on too much this year, and want
to drop a couple of units
See Shan
Deng one of the Conservatorium's sub-deans.
She will be able to show you what will happen
if you drop units, and work out an alternative
pathway with you. Alternatively, she may refer
you to Heather
Monkhouse the Undergraduate Studies Coordinator
for further information.

3. I hate a unit
that I'm doing - it doesn't make sense
First of all, see the lecturer of the unit. It may
be a case of just sitting down with them and talking
through some of your concerns.
If this doesn't work, and you really don't feel
you can talk to any of the teaching staff, see
Heather
Monkhouse the Undergraduate Studies Coordinator.
At most, she can mediate the problem, and at least,
she can provide a box of tissues and some wholesome
advice if you want to be really miserable. She
may also refer you to other student services.

5. Do I have
to go to Concert Practice?
Students enrolled in a Major Study unit (FCP,
FCM coded units) must attend a
minimum of 8 concert practices and 6 professional
concerts during the course of the semester. Concert
diaries must be submited by 1pm on the final teaching
day of the semester. The diary need only contain
the program or an entry describing the details
one would find in a program: who, what, when and
where.
Other students are welcome to attend.
NB: Students enrolled in a major study unit through
the Prelude or Overture programs
need not attend Concert Practice. Instead their
diaries will detail the 6 professional concerts
and their participation in all school performance
activities.

been at school for years, and really need help
with my essays
There are several things you can do here. You
can go and see your lecturer in the individual
