The Conservatorium auditions candidates for entry into its programs for both semester 1 and semester 2 start dates.
Successful applicants are normally expected to accept their offer and commence studies immediately. However it is possilble, where need arises, for students to defer commencement in the Associate Degree in Music Studies for one year (provided they do not with to undertake one-to-one performance/composition study). Students wishing to so defer should follow the guidelines outlined in the University's online Admissions Guide section.
it is also possible for students to defer commencement of a performance-based course of study for one semester. i.e. For entry into the following programs:
Diploma in Music Performance
Bachelor of Music
Bachelor of Music (Honours)
Graduate Certificate in Music (Specialization)
Graduate Diploma of Music (Specialization)
Graduate Diploma of Professional Music Practice
Master of Music Studies (Specialization)
Master of Music
successful applicants may defer commencing their course of study for one semester. Students may not defer for one year.
Students entering the Associate Degree in Music Studies who intend to enrol in a performance unit (FCP110 Foundation Practical Study) in their first semester of study, may defer commencing their course of study for one semester.
Students entering the Associate Degree in Music Studies who do not intend to enrol in a performance unit in their first semester of study may defer commencing their course of study for one year. To do so students will need to submit a request for a deferral of studies through the admissions ofice.
