Tasmanian Youth Orchestra Incorporated provides high quality musical experiences and expert training for young Tasmanian musicians. In 2011 TYO Inc presents workshops, ensembles, residencies and concerts throughout Tasmania for over 200 young musicians.
The Tasmania Symphony Orchestra has earned a high profile nationally and internationally through its world-wide broadcasts and award-winning recordings. The Conservatorium of Music enjoys a highly productive partnership with the TSO, with many of the Orchestra’s leading players also teaching at the Conservatorium.
The Festival of Voices is Tasmania’s leading winter cultural event and Australia’s premiere festival celebrating the vocalist and the power of song. The Conservatorium of Music is proud to play a key role in presenting this annual event.
Australian Music Examinations Board
The Australian Music Examinations Board is administered in Tasmania by the Conservatorium of Music. It offers a system of graded music and speech examinations, including publications related to the syllabus and examinations, which provide valuable frameworks for studies throughout school years and beyond. For many Conservatorium students, AMEB Tasmania has provided an invaluable foundation for the outstanding performance and academic outcomes which they now enjoy.
