Randal performs regularly in many contemporary keyboard styles as piano player, Hammond organist and accordionist and in these capacities has backed and played with many national and international artists. These include Michael Spiby, Brian Ritchie, Nigel Kennedy, John Etheridge, The Idea of North and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. He enjoys national recognition as a jazz Hammond organist having performed on the instrument in many concerts for national broadcast and is currently the Hammond player for the aria nominated Southern Gospel choir, Hobart original band, Let the Cat Out, and Pete Cornelius.
Randal was appointed Lecturer in Contemporary Keyboard in 2012.
