The MyLO evaluation, selection and implementation project has now completed Phase 1 and commenced Phase 2 Implementation.
Since receiving Council approval to proceed with implementation on 22 July 2011 and with the signing of the contract between UTAS and Desire2Learn on 8 August 2011, recruitment of staff and planning for the implementation of the new MyLO is well underway. The most critical next steps are to ensure the system is installed and configured to meet the requirements of the university and integrate successfully with our existing systems. We are working towards having some non-award and award units in our new MyLO for Semester 2, 2012.
It is important to note that the first priority of our project is to provide a core online learning and teaching environment that is robust, reliable and intuitive to use, and that integrates seamlessly with current services. The new LMS will be adaptable, facilitating a full range of learning and teaching approaches, disciplines and contexts, and will offer scope to support external partnerships.
