The University College of the University of Tasmania, has been established to offer a suite of qualifications that are more:
- accessible for those students who wouldn’t traditionally consider university, such as those with low or no ATAR or older workers looking to upskill
- affordable as they are delivered regionally and only take two years full-time
- flexible, with a range of delivery modes
- relevant to the needs of regional industry and the Tasmanian economy
This includes a new type of associate degree, which aims to lift Tasmanian participation in higher education and produce graduates who are commercially aware, business savvy, technically competent, creative, ethically aware and equipped for life-long learning.
The first of the new associate degrees, in agribusiness and applied business, are being offered from 2017.
