Invitation to Apply

The School of Nursing & Midwifery invites nursing colleagues who participate in teaching and/or research related to nursing to apply for a voluntary position with the School.

Who are voluntary academics?

Voluntary academics are colleagues who have an ongoing relationship with the School of Nursing and Midwifery. They are usually involved in teaching programs and/or research related to nursing, and do not receive remuneration for their work.

Appointment entitles a voluntary academic to a number of benefits including access to any available University discounts and access to the library, University network and Internet for University purposes.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence and according to University of Tasmania selection criteria.

The voluntary positions that the SNM offers are:

  • Visiting Lecturer
  • Adjunct Lecturer
  • Clinical Lecturer
  • Visiting Senior Lecturer
  • Adjunct Senior Lecturer
  • Clinical Senior Lecturer
  • Visiting Associate Professor
  • Adjunct Associate Professor
  • Clinical Associate Professor
  • Visiting Professor
  • Adjunct Professor
  • Clinical Professor

Process for new applicants

Interested colleagues should:

  1. Download the electronic application form (Word 49KB).
  2. Download the selection criteria (PDF 8KB) document.
  3. Open the electronic application in a word processor.
  4. Complete all sections of the electronic application form.
  5. Produce a document addressing the selection criteria.
  6. Produce an electronic CV.
  7. Attach to an email the completed application form, address to selection criteria along with your CV.

Current title holders should:

  1. Download the electronic renewal form (Word 45KB).
  2. Download the selection criteria (PDF 8KB) document.
  3. Open the electronic application in a word processor.
  4. Complete all sections of the electronic renewal form.
  5. Produce a document addressing the selection criteria.
  6. Produce an electronic CV.
  7. Attach to an email the completed renewal form, address to selection criteria along with your CV.
