Professor Zimitat is the Associate Head (Students & Engagement) with a background in biomedical science and health professional education. His PhD was based on the development and exploration of the neuropathology of glucose toxicity in a rat model of Wernicke’s encephalopathy. Prof Zimitat’s Masters involved researching the development of an interactive case study environment to promote clinical reasoning and interprofessional learning. He was awarded a Vice Chancellor’s Award for Learning & Teaching in 2010 and a National Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in 2011 in recognition of his contributions to health professional education. Prof Zimitat is a regular reviewer and on the Editorial Board for a number of journals and serves as the Deputy Chair of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia.
