Vasiliki is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery and has a critical care background. Vasiliki is also employed in the health care sector and has over 19 years experience as a nurse, with 14 of those years being employed in tertiary referral intensive care units in Australia and The United Kingdom. More recently, Vasiliki has entered the area of Emergency Nursing where she has integrated her research of risk prediction with care of acute patients.
Her PhD was supported by an NHMRC scholarship were she explored the risk of readmission to hospital for adults with heart failure. Her research interests include: risk prediction; chronic disease management; and acute care management.
Vasiliki has a passion for teaching and promotes a reflective practice approach.
Prior to her appointment at UTas, Vasiliki was employed as a Lecturer in the SNM at UWS.
