The Cu@home Young Parent Nurse Home Visiting Program has been developed to meet the Tasmanian Government's commitment to a nurse home visiting program for vulnerable families, as expressed in the following Whole of Government Policy Framework for the Early Years priority areas:
Priority 3. Supporting adolescent decision making about pregnancy and parenting through providing access to adolescent-appropriate parenting information and programs.
Priority 4. Supporting parents who are expecting a new baby through expand evidence-based programs to reduce smoking and improve nutrition, in order to reduce the prevalence of low birth weight.
Priority 5. Supporting parents who are caring for a new baby or young children through the introduction of sustained home visiting for vulnerable groups and developing culturally sensitive strategies and programs for specific vulnerable groups.
