The University of Tasmania offers a range of exciting research opportunities. The School of Nursing & Midwifery (SNM) seeks to provide high quality supervision along with a supportive and stimulating research culture for all of our candidates undertaking graduate research. The SNM has a growing number of PhD candidates, some of whom are listed on the School's People - Postgraduate page.
Applications and enrolment for the Masters of Nursing by Research and the PhD programs can occur at any time during the year. Prior to applying, you should contact Dr Lindsay Smith in the SNM to discuss your interests.

Graduate research students may be eligible for scholarships. Particular conditions of eligibility apply to the various scholarships. Details of these scholarships can be found at UTAS Graduate Research Office - Scholarships website. If you are considering applying to undertake your PhD in nursing, and you have a first class honours degree, you may be eligible for an Elite Research Scholarship. These scholarships provide a stipend of $30,000 per annum along with a variety of other benefits. Full information can be found at the Elite Research Scholarships website.
