The School of Nursing and Midwifery will be holding a Taster Day at both the Hobart and Launceston campuses in 2013. Registration to attend the Year 11/12 Nursing Taster Day has now closed for 2013. Information on 2014 dates will be available in the new year. The Year 9/10 Nursing Taster Day is now full. Registration has closed early as a result. |

The Nursing Taster Day has been designed to give high school and college students an insight into studying Nursing at UTAS. Students will tour the Launceston or Hobart campus and venture inside nursing lecture theatres and simulation labs. The day will be interactive, immersing students in a mock ward where they will find out the importance of a sterile environment, get the opportunity to resuscitate a life size manikin and learn how to take vital signs.
Students will find out what it is like to be a Registered Nurse, the endless opportunities that a career in Nursing can provide and most importantly, what they need to do to gain entry into the Bachelor of Nursing.
