Current students and staff will be available on site to discuss courses and study options, and to conduct tours of both our award-winning purpose built studios in the historic Launceston Railway Workshops. Join us for a free BBQ and check out the wider precinct including Urban Farming Tasmania all-day market, Aurora Stadium, The Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery, The Tramways Museum and Don River Railway will all be open to the public. The Inveresk site is home to the Theatre Program, and is one of two sites for the Art Program. The Theatre Program includes study in the areas of technical theatre, production and performance, whilst areas of study available through Inveresk's inter-disciplinary Art program include studios in painting, textiles, spatial practice (foundry, metal, & wood workshops), photo and electronic media, printmaking, drawing, and ceramics.
Observe current students competing in a unique one day competition – creating an art work, installation or performance in four hours to a specific theme, prior to judging and exhibition at 2pm. Winners will be announced at the close of Open Day.

Video Artist Shaun Gladwell travelled to Afghanistan as the Australia War Memorial's official war artist in October 2009. An exhibition of videos, photographs and paintings; presented by the Academy Gallery, University of Tasmania and the Australian War Memorial.

Speak with staff and students, view a slideshow of all programs, view models of student work and take part in a number of assisted hands on design activities throughout the day.

Check out the Inveresk Square Garden Project exploring urban food systems and the effects of composting and food waste treatment in urban agriculture. Talk to Landscape students as they work in the garden, feed the worm farm treatment and will demonstrate scientific measurements of composting processes.
An exhibition of hand-tailored garments by Architecture and Interior Design students which explore ideas of interpretation as well as the synergy between fashion and architecture.
An installation by Interior Design students that will get you back in touch with your sense. Visit this small oasis, created by upcycling hundreds of textile offcuts.
