Accommodation Services offers you high quality, safe and affordable on-campus University accommodation in Hobart and Launceston. Living in University accommodation provides you with a supportive community and includes free academic support programs, social, cultural, environmental, sporting and health and wellbeing programs. On campus living reduces the distractions everyday life can bring, and is available to overseas, interstate and Tasmanian students. Your accommodation fees provide you with a furnished, secure and private bedroom, complete with internet-ready study area, wardrobe and heater. Your fees also include electricity and the use of onsite facilities: computer labs, laundry and sports/recreational areas. You can choose to either cook for yourself in the self-catering kitchens, or buy low cost, healthy meals from the onsite Café Restaurant.

Off Campus Housing provides an alternative way to renting properties at UTAS through an online listing. The listing covers a wide range of types of accommodation catering to most needs and budgets. UTAS students requiring properties from the Off Campus Housing Listing may have access to a range of other services offered by Accommodation Services at its on-campus sites. Additional services include: food from on-campus Café Restaurant at resident prices, access to academic support programs, social events and pastoral support, use of computer labs, laundry and sports/recreational areas.

The Tasmania University Union has over 550 rooms in Hobart, in a range of configurations and styles, which are leased exclusively to UTAS students. The majority of the properties are within walking distance of the University, and ideal for those who don’t want the expense of a vehicle. Leases generally run from 1st January until 31st December and there is a wide range of rooms to suit your needs. The TUU also offers limited short term accommodation from 2 days to 3 months.
