1. The Office of Research
Services is a good starting point if you do not
have contacts at the University and want to meet researchers
to explore the possibility of undertaking collaborative
research. Industry involvement can range from providing
the funding, to use of your facilities for conducting
the research, or to direct collaboration with industry
researchers, such as in the co-supervision of postgraduate
student projects. There are some funding schemes which
require industry involvement in order to be considered,
such as the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage
scheme. These schemes normally work on solving an industry
problem and receive grants on top of the financial and
other resources provided by industry.
2. The University of Tasmania Foundation accepts
direct donations for scholarships, research activities
or facilities. A donation can be the quickest way to
aid the advancement, development and practical application
and impact of the University's research in the community.
The University of Tasmania Foundation is an income tax
exempt charity and a deductible gift recipient.
