Staff can become involved and support PASS in a number of ways. The effectiveness of PASS is shown to be greatly enhanced when academic staff are involved and support the program. If you do not currently have PASS on your unit the first step to supporting or obtaining PASS sessions for your unit is to speak to your Head of School and colleagues about the potential role of peer learning within your unit especially from a strategic perspective. You can also contact the PASS office to find out more about the program and express your interest.
If you currently have PASS on your subject you can support the program in a number of ways. These include allowing PASS Leaders time to speak to students in lectures, talking about the value of PASS to your students, avoiding associating PASS with remedial programs and allowing the PASS leader access to unit materials.
