Information for use by Budget Centres in monitoring their finances:

TechOne Financials

Salary payment data is transferred from the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) to TechOne Financials after each payment run is finalised.

  • Employees who have been granted access to this information in TechOne Financials will be able to run reports for their Budget Centre and/or Project(s) and do enquiries on actual costs and commitments.
  • If you need access to this information, please contact your Head of Budget centre to arrange this with the University's TechOne Financials Help Desk.

Salary Costings

The salary costing worksheet (Excel 225KB) can be used to cost the common classifications (Professional, Academic and English Language Centre Staff) within the University.

  • Rates are as per the current Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and any future awarded payrises contained within.
  • Should any future payrises need to be factored in the spreadsheet contains this functionality to increase payrates by x%.
  • Salary Increments, where applicable (normally paid from 01-Mar) can also be factored into the spreadsheet.

  • Note:  This tool is not suitable for research project budgeting purposes.  Please refer to the costing tool provided by the Office of Research Services.

Salary On-costs

  • Salary on-costs are incurred over and above salary payment made by the University
  • A detailed break-up of salary on-costs (PDF 95KB)

Central Leave Provision

  • Certain leave payments and other costs may be charged against a central account rather than incurred by projects within your Budget Centre.
  • To assist with the ongoing funding of these costs appointments against Operating projects (OP) are levied a Central Leave Levy On-cost (see Salary On-Costs above).

Salary Commitments

  • All employee on ongoing appointments or contracts will have salary commitments automatically created in TechOne Financials.  These salary commitments will be either up to and including their end of contract date or the end of the calendar year, whichever comes first.
  • Casual employees do not have salary commitments within TechOne Financials.
