The School of Pharmacy is proud to offer one of the original and most highly regarded Bachelor of Pharmacy programs in Australasia. The School's program was the first to incorporate significant clinical education and experiential training. It was the first to incorporate a 4th year syllabus. It also produced Australia's first research Honours and PhD graduates in clinical pharmacy in the early 1980s.
However, the School of Pharmacy does not rest on its laurels; it strives to maintain a position at the forefront of pharmacy education and research in Australasia. The School's mission is to deliver excellence in local, national and international pharmacy education and health care research. Our graduates are extremely highly regarded; this is the School's single most important endorsement.
The School has excellent educators and researchers on staff. Many have been widely recognised and awarded prizes for their outcomes in teaching and research. The School is a major contributor to the Australia's pharmacy continuing professional education activities. The School collaborates with many professional and commercial organisations in both training and research.
In research, the School has a broad expertise, encompassing clinical pharmacy, pharmacy practice and health informatics, via its highly successful Unit for Medication Outcomes Research and Education (UMORE) unit, through to smoking cessation, pharmaceutical sciences, drug development and natural products research.
Above all, the School prides itself on being adaptable and responsive, and always willing to respectfully consider the views of our students and other stakeholders.
