It is important to have a application form for all placements completed and approved by the Unit Coordinator, Juanita Westbury.

General guidelines for students on placements, including those accessing the rural and remote scholarship scheme:

• ALL placements, whether hospital or community may qualify for rural funding
• Placement officer should be first point of contact for the student once initial contact with Lecturer has been made.
• An allowance per student per eligible placement will be granted by the School upon receipt of application forms. Any additional costs incurred above allowance must be met by student and anticipated in budget prior to commencement of placement
• Rural funding will NOT be considered unless an application form is completed. Forms are available on Web or from Placement Officer
• All Guild indeminity insurance requirements must be current and provided to school before commencement of placement
• DHHS Placement Guidelines - Students are expected to familiarise themselves with the health care agency protocols and policies relating to the area in which they are undertaking their placement (see guidelines below)
• Police check and infectious disease's tuberculosis and vacination summary forms are now required for all placements. Students need to make their own arrangements to have this check done and at their own expense
• Students accessing rural funding are required to provide a report (including powerpoint presentation) to the School for publication by the School, UTAS, and/or the Pharmacy Guild of Australia
