Anna graduated with a BPharm in 2001 from the University of Tasmania. After successfully gaining full registration, she spent some time exploring different areas of Pharmacy, including a diverse range of community settings and Hospital Pharmacy. At the end of 2003, she commenced her Honours degree; working on a Project funded by the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Cares Medication Safety Innovation Awards Program. This project aimed to improve medication management post hospital discharge, through patient education and improved transfer of medication information.
Upon successful completion of this project with first class honours, she commenced work as the Clinical Pharmacy Research Manager of the Med eSupport Project, funded by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. From 2006-2009 she managed the development, implementation and evaluation of the Multicentre Drug Use Evaluation Program for Tasmania. This program, funded by the National Prescribing Service, examined hospital drug use in a number of conditions, with a focus on transfer of patients to the community setting.
Anna gained AACP accreditation as a Consultant Pharmacist in 2007.
