Dr Ronald Castelino is a Lecturer In Therapeutics & Pharmacy Practice at the School of Pharmacy, University of Tasmania. He is currently the unit coordinator for Therapeutics 4 A (CSA 406) and Evidence-based Healthcare (CSA 288). In addition, he is also involved in teaching into Therapeutics 3A and 3B (CSA 305/306).
Ron obtained his PhD from the University of Sydney in 2011. His PhD research mainly involved “Quality of Prescribing in Community-Dwelling Older People and the Impact of Home Medicines Reviews”. Ron’s background includes practice as a renal pharmacist and has a strong research interest around quality use of medicines (QUM) in patients with kidney disease. In addition, his Master’s research focussed on the ‘Evaluation of Medication-Related Problems in Nephrology’. Ron’s other research interests includes Geriatric Pharmacotherapy; Evidence-based Practice; Medication Management Reviews and QUM in cardiovascular disease.
