Pharmacy bids farewell to 66 students at the Hobart graduation ceremony.
On Wednesday 19th December, the School of Pharmacy bid farewell to 64 students who graduated across Pharmacy undergraduate and postgraduate courses and two students who graduated with a Doctoral degree.
For some students, graduation will signify the end of four years of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and the start of an exciting new career in pharmacy. Many Bachelor of Pharmacy graduates will have already started their year long internship where they will get the opportunity to apply their skills in the workplace as they transition into registered practising pharmacists.
Of those graduating with their Bachelor of Pharmacy, the School had six students graduate with Honours via the Integrated Honours Program offered from Year 3, two of whom achieved First Class Honours. Congratulations Jackson Crawn and Daniel Hoyle.
The School also had a number of students graduate with a Graduate Diploma of Clinical Pharmacy or a Masters of Clinical Pharmacy. This was an extraordinary effort, as both courses are offered fully online, and require much dedication and commitment.
A total of seven students who have been working diligently with a number of our researchers at the School to complete their research project for a Masters of Pharmaceutical Science also graduated on Wednesday. Many of these students have travelled long distances to work with our academics, and it will be sad to see them leave us.
Finally, we are very proud to see the culmination of many years of hard work for two of our PhD candidates, and congratulate Dr Eric Cui and Dr Ella Van Tienen on their amazing achievements in 2012 as they graduate with the Doctor of Philosophy.
This year has been a great year of success for the School of Pharmacy. Through our teaching and research efforts in conjunction with support initiatives and collaborations we are very proud to have 66 graduates in 2012, and look forward to watching their progress as they navigate new careers in 2013 and beyond.
