Two academics at the School of Pharmacy have recently completed professional development to gain qualification as a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP).
Pharmacy lecturers, Dr. Juanita Westbury and Angus Thompson undertook the internationally recognised US based program, that accredits them as providers of pharmaceutical care to seniors.
Many of the School's academics combine their university role with a range of professional practice positions and this development will help to facilitate this further for both Juanita and Angus.
"One thing our students comment on, is that they value being taught by academics who bring real practice experience to their teaching" said Angus Thompson, lecturer in Therapeutics and Pharmacy Practice, adding "I hope that Juanita and I can help strengthen this further with the medication review work our CGP qualification will enable."
The School of Pharmacy has for many years encouraged academic staff to continue to practice as well as teach and congratulate Juanita and Angus on their certification.
