TAPS NAPSA Liaison and NAPSA Secretary, Bron Jones is once again vying for our blood. This week she will be looking to persuade red-blooded victims to contribute to the Tasmanian Association of Pharmacy Students (TAPS) blood drive in an effort to maintain their champion reign over the Vampire Cup.
The Vampire Cup is an annual event and an initiative of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association (NAPSA) and the Red Cross. All 16 NAPSA branches compete during the month of September to see who can raise the most blood-donations. The branch that gets the highest percentage of its members donating blood by October 7 will be named the winner!
"Last year, TAPS won this event and we would really like to back it up this year" says Bron.
With one in three people requiring blood in their lifetime and only one in thirty donating blood, it is a worthy cause to roll your sleeve up for.
If you want to help your community while simultaneously supporting TAPS in the Vampire Cup, then book an appointment with the Red Cross Blood Service today, by phoning 131 495.
When you have donated, email pharmacy@utas.edu.au or phone 03 6226 2190 to let the School know about your donation, so we can make it count in the Vampire Cup.
Friends and family can also get behind the event, by donating on behalf of TAPS. They can do this by visiting www.donateblood.com.au/who-can-give/club-red/join-group and filling out the online-registration form.
