An Academic Exchange Between the University of Tasmania and the Tibetan Universities in India

The Tasmanian Buddhist Studies in India Program provides a unique opportunity for interchange between Australian students and scholars and their Tibetan counterparts, and for the study of the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist tradition by Australian students with representatives of that living tradition.

It enables Tibetan scholars to visit the Australian university system, and the University of Tasmania in particular as colleagues and as teachers; for Tibetan students to study in Australia, and for our own students and those of other universities to study at the Tibetan universities in exile in India.

There are no other programs in this country that provide access to Tibetan scholars or regular opportunities for students to study abroad at Tibetan universities.
