My research interests concern the relationship between values and science. I examine this broad theme in a number of more specific ways within three realms: cognitive science of religion, moral psychology, and environmental philosophy. In both cognitive science of religion and moral psychology, religious and moral values are examined using insights from cognitive science, and evolutionary psychology. In environmental philosophy, the role and nature of environmental values (e.g., values informing the concept of sustainable development) are examined within the context of environmental management decision-making processes.
