Drought conditions increase plant water stress, which can affect plant morphological and chemical traits, and result in death of drought susceptible trees. Water stress coupled with environmental conditions associated with climate change may, therefore, affect plant-animal interactions.
This project will investigate variation in drought tolerance traits within Eucalyptus species, the stability of plant traits under future environmental conditions, and how changes in plant traits affect plant-animal interactions, and flow-on into communities and the ecosystem.
