Relatedness and pollen movement between individuals within native E. globulus populations are being studied to shed light on the genetic ecology of the species, specifically testing the family group hypothesis.
Determining relatedness of individuals within the STBA program will allow a reduction in bi-parental inbreeding and increased accuracy in estimating the genetic worth of families.
