How did Eucalyptus evolve to become the "universal Australian"?
Australia's 700+ species of Eucalyptus are adapted to an enormous variety of habitats, and support a large percentage of the Australian biota. This project studies the evolution of Eucalyptus by testing for historical genetic exchange between species.
