Up to four scholarships are offered in memory of the late Professor Newton Barber, who was the first professor of botany at the University of Tasmania. Professor Barber set the current research strengths for the School of Plant Science in pea and eucalypt genetics.
Available to honours students in plant science.
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
$6,000. Interstate students may receive an additional relocation allowance.

Applicants should apply online and forward a copy of the referee's report to two referees. All potential honours students should make contact with the Honours Coordinator in their discipline to discuss interests and options.
