Biography

Helmut is a Senior Consultant with the Technopolis Group in Germany. Prior to this he worked at the ZEW Centre for European Economic Research, Department of Industrial Economics and International Management, in Mannheim, Germany, then with the AIRC for four years. Helmut graduated at Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, Germany, with a Diploma in Economics and holds a PhD from Leuphana University of Lüneburg.

During his career Helmut has been involved in research projects focussing on impact assessments of government innovation support programmes, and the analysis of private sector innovations. He has investigated innovation activities in newly founded companies, knowledge and technology transfer from universities and the private sector to start-ups, academic spin-offs,  and the internationalisation process of companies. He has extensive experience and knowledge in quantitative research methods as well as survey design and data preparation of large scale data sets.
