Biography

After a career in customer service and marketing with an Australian telco, Rob ran his own consulting business working primarily with large businesses and government agencies in training and development. His involvement with the School of Management dates from 1994 and he has been full-time since 2000. As an academic his teaching is primarily in human resources/organisational behaviour and marketing. He is a board member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management and an associate fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.

Research Themes

Rob's research aligns with the University's research theme of Data, Knowledge and Decisions and Creativity, Culture and Society. His research interests are fairly widespread, developed from his background in psychology and as a working manager. Both his marketing and HR interests are focused on understanding the place of the individual both within and outside the organisation (e.g. human resource management,  services marketing, human resource development, buyer behaviour). Since managers need to have a better understanding of these issues my research interests also extends to postgraduate management education.
