Elaine worked as a Nurse Practitioner in General Practice in the UK, running one of the first nurse-led practices there, following completion of her Masters in Advanced Nursing Practice (Nurse Practitioner). She also lectured in nursing at The University of Sheffield before migrating to Tasmania on 2008 and taking up a lecturer post with the University of Tasmania. Elaine previously ran her own consultancy business contracting to UK NHS service providers undertaking workforce planning and in-house continuing professional development training for general practice staff, both clinical and administrative.


Originally from the UK, Elaine has lived and worked in Tasmania since 2008 and teaches across a range of courses and units in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the School of Health Sciences. Elaine is currently Launceston Campus Lead for the Batchelor of Nursing programme and has a particular interest in Nurse Practitioner development, which is her main area of research.
