Dr Catchpole has lectured in the MBBS course since 2006, as program coordinator for Case-Based Learning in year 1 and the Kids & Families Program in years 1-3 until late 2013. Since then she has taken on the role of Deputy Director for years 1-3 of the MBBS course, with particular responsibility for standardisation and quality assurance of clinical assessments, casual clinical staff management and development as assessment of professional behaviour in medical students in the early years. Dr Catchpole is also Chair of Professionalism and Leadership Domain for MBBS.

Dr Catchpole's previous medical education expertise is a medical educator in postgraduate training for General Practice, and her clinical background is in General Practice which is an ongoing involvement two days a week.
