Expertise

James is a Research Associate in the School of Humanities. His work concerns religious movements in South Asia especially Sri Lanka. Dietary ethics and the intersection between religion, nationalism and animal welfare are his main thematic areas. Starting in 2016 James will begin working on a new project concerning child monasticism in Theravada Buddhism.
