Thermal Challenge Trial (2018)$30,000
Description
Atlantic salmon from the Tasmanian Selective Breeding Program will be housed in the EAF for 8 weeks and exposed to a thermal tolerance test according to established procedures to determine the heritability thermal tolerance and identify tolerance level in relation to different SBP family lines. IMAS will use the fish to compare physiological responses to the thermal tolerance compared with an IMAS control population. CSIRO are contributing valuable fish all of which have been PIT tagged to EAF IMAS temperature research. In addition to the fish the SBP is making a $30K cash contribution towards the IMAS led EAF research.
