General Responsibilities

Linda Jaffray has 12 years' experience as a specialist palliative care social worker, having worked in the community based palliative care service on the North West Coast of Tasmania. 

From 2011-2013 she worked as a Research Fellow for the University of Tasmania on a variety of rural health research projects including: community gardening in residential aged care,  non-acute  medical hospital admissions, electronic advanced care planning for older, community dwelling adults with chronic illness and barriers in health care access for remote communities.

Linda is currently undertaking her PHD at the Rural Clinical School in Burnie, after being awarded an Elite Scholarship.  Her PhD topic is 'Exploring the value of Mindfulness for Informal Palliative Caregivers'.  Linda is passionate about supporting caregivers who take on the rewarding and complex role of caring for a family member or friend with a palliative illness.

She also teaches into the Bachelor of Social Work Degree at the University of Tasmania's Cradle Coast Campus.
