Nominations are now CLOSED for the 2011 University of Tasmania Distinguished Service Medal.
The Distinguished Service Medal was established in 2004 to recognise exceptional and sustained contributions by staff to the achievement of the goals of the University of Tasmania.
The Distinguished Service Medal may be awarded to an individual member of staff who, over a sustained period, has provided meritorious and distinguished service that has significantly exceeded the scope and commitment of usual expectations. Distinguished service may take the form of outstanding teaching, research and scholarship, administration and/or community service.
The Distinguished Service Medal may be awarded on an annual basis and only one Medal may be awarded each year. The award consists of a specially-commissioned medallion plus a grant of $25,000 to be used to support academic, professional or University activities.
