Conferences facilitate face-to-face interaction; they provide an opportunity for specialists to develop relationships and share research, outcomes and processes.
Many UTAS staff attend dozens of international and national conferences.
While UTAS will benefit in terms of exposure and reputation by hosting conferences, the region enjoys the significant associated economic benefits.
The impacts of attracting academic conferences are significant. Many conferences are held in winter when the City and region most need additional visitor activity.
The conferences, and Launceston as a destination, receive widespread promotion via host organisations’ and universities’ networks – nationally and internationally.
As many delegates travel from afar, they will pre and post tour – and will return home to promote Tasmania as an appealing and unique destination.
Business Events Tasmania can provide assistance with attracting and organising activities. More information…
