TEQSA Audit

TEQSA Audit Completed

In 2011 the Provost, with the support of the UTAS Quality Committee, led UTAS' preparations for an external audit by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

The audit concentrated on two themes – Internationalisation and Learning Outcomes. TEQSA also followed up on the progress made on the implementation of a number of recommendations made in cycle one AUQA Audits of AMC (2002) and UTAS (2005).

Following the submission of the UTAS Performance Portfolio and a large volume of supporting and supplementary materials, members of the TEQSA UTAS Audit Panel conducted visits to selected overseas and onshore UTAS sites in September and October.

In China, the Shanghai Ocean University (SOU) and the Zhejiang University of Technology (ZUT) were visited by the Audit Chair and Director.

The full Panel visited the Hobart campus on the 3rd and 4th of October, Launceston on the 5th and Burnie on the 6th.

In total, the Panel members interviewed over 400 UTAS staff, students and stakeholders.

The University would like to sincerely thank all participants including staff, students and external community members who took part in the audit. The key documents prepared for the 2011 audit can be accessed from this page.

The internal Project/Implementation Plan that will be used to monitor progress in addressing affirmations and recommendations will be managed by the Office of Provost, with close involvement from a number of other portfolios in particular that of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students and Education).
