Participants are required to complete some simple questionnaires before watching a 13 minute film containing real-life scenes of injury and death in the aftermath of motor-vehicle accidents. They will then be assigned to one of three tasks; a simple computer game, a simple verbal task, or sitting in a room quietly. Participants will then be asked to keep a diary for 7 days to record their thoughts about the film. After 7 days participants will return for a brief follow-up session to return the diary and complete two simple questionnaires. The study will take up to 1.5 hours including the follow-up session.
The study requires males and females 18 years and over, who do not suffer from any anxiety problems.
The study aims to be finished by mid August.
Hobart campus only.
Course credit for first years: 1.5 hours
