Over the past 40 years, the School of Psychology has developed and maintained a distinctive emphasis on experimental psychology in both teaching and research, particularly in the areas of cognitive and visual neuroscience, and more recently, in the areas of human motor control and applied psychology, including health, developmental and community psychology. Currently, the School has a strong and active research program organised around four theme areas within which are active research groups and well-equipped laboratories:
