About Us

The Awards, Grants and Fellowships team was introduced midway through 2007 to assist staff to develop and administer competitive teaching and learning-focused award, grant and fellowship applications at both the UTAS and national level. The Promoting Excellence Initiative (2008) has allowed for the expansion of Team initiatives and the Awards, Grants and Fellowships office is now funded through to the end of 2010.

Awards and Grants sits within the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students & Education) and works to ensure that appropriate mechanisms are in place to support staff to collect evidence about their teaching, identify staff who are achieving at a high level and support them in the development of applications for University of Tasmania and Australian Learning and Teaching Council awards, grants and fellowships.

Other responsibilities include establishing networks and collaborating with other universities and agencies for the purpose of developing grant applications; coordinating institutional funding applications for developments associated with teaching and learning; and, providing project management support for project initiatives on behalf of the University.

If you would like to organise a school or faculty-based information session about UTas or ALTC awards, grants or fellowships, or if you would like assistance to prepare an award, fellowship or grant application, please contact Awards.Grants@utas.edu.au or (+ 613) 6324 3740.
