Teaching Merit Certificates
The Teaching Merit Certificate scheme recognises teaching members of academic staff who are judged by peers and students as being highly proficient and competent teachers. The University recognises that the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching & Learning are for the exceptional few. The Faculty Teaching & Learning Committees are required to note which applicants they feel are worthy of nomination for a Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning
There are two categories of Certificates; Individual and Team (or Unit-based). Nominations must be made by Heads of Schools, peers, and students. Nominations should must be made on a copy of the official nomination form.
Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching & Learning
The Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning will be awarded each year to staff who have made a major contribution to teaching and learning excellence at the University of Tasmania. There are three categories of awards available to academic and general staff: Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning; Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning; Awards for Teaching Excellence.
