The University of Tasmania has climbed all three of the highest profile international rankings systems this year, confirming its place amongst the best universities in the world.
The last of these rankings, the Times Higher Education (THE) world university rankings saw the University of Tasmania ranked amongst the top 300 universities in the world, climbing well over 100 positions.
Last year, the University was ranked 408 but has now placed in the 251-300 band. THE also named the University of Tasmania joint tenth among Australian universities.
The THE rankings followed the release earlier this year of the QS World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
In the QS rankings, the University of Tasmania climbed from 403 to 379 and also improved its standing in the three subject areas for which it qualifies for inclusion. The University also continued its sustained climb up the ARWU list, coming in at number 305 this year.
