Profs' Phonic iApplication. This app invites 3-7 year old children to find words that start with a particular sound.
Young children will come to understand that words may start with the same sound that is represented by a letter of the alphabet. This is known as ‘cracking the alphabetic code’ and is essential for children to be able to understand the reading process.
This session would be useful to primary teachers, early childcare workers (daycare/preschool/kinder), parents of young children, and education undergraduate students.
Professor Ian Hay will present.
Afternoon tea will be provided.
Local community groups, government, Business and UTAS staff and students are invited to attend. Primary Teachers, Early Childcare Workers (daycare/preschool/kinder), parents of young children, education undergraduate students would also benefit from this session.
