This workshop on Research Ethics is an open forum exploring research ethics at UTAS and the role of the ethics framework in supporting research excellence, in a developing and dynamic ethical context.

The format is a Q&A open forum to allow panel members to address specific questions from the audience.

Research Ethics Committee Chairs will provide an overview of the remit and framework of their respective committees and discuss hot topics in those areas, including:

  • Data linkage;
  • Developments in genetic testing and ethical implications;
  • The use of social media forums as research tools;
  • Implications of the new edition of the ‘Code of Practice for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes’.
