This session is for those who use animals in research and teaching at UTAS.
Research staff, PhD and Honours students who have not recently (c. 2 years) participated in a training session are urged to attend.
Topics will include:
At 12 noon, the Animal Welfare Officer will do an additional presentation consisting of two parts: a short talk on rodent anaesthesia and pain control followed by a talk on aseptic surgery including what is aseptic surgery, preparation of the patient and surgical kit, choice of instruments and sutures. This is a theoretical demonstration only.
This session is run by the Research Ethics & Integrity Unit, Office of Research Services.
